Peter Sokolow, a full-time professional musician active in Klezmer revival, was interviewed by Christa Whitney on December 5, 2013 in Brooklyn, New York. Peter had a secular upbringing in Brooklyn. His father was a piano teacher while his mother was what he calls an "armchair communist." Peter speaks of his parents as highly assimilated and describes how growing up he had very little exposure to Yiddish culture and music...
